In hotels, every detail matters. Guests may not always notice everything, but they definitely feel when something is off.
One thing that often gets ignored? Ceiling fans.
Most hotels still use standard fans. The problem is that they don’t match the space. They look out of place, especially in well-designed interiors. In big rooms, they also don’t work properly.
That’s why custom ceiling fan projects in India are becoming important not just for functionality but also for design.
At The Fan Studio, we’ve worked with many hotels where fans needed to fit into the space rather than stand out. Here are 8 real projects and what we did in each.
1. Taj Lake Palace, Udaipur – Heritage Property
Taj is one of India’s most renowned hospitality chains across the globe. We have worked on many of their properties, and the Taj Lake Palace, Udaipur, is one of them. It’s not a regular hotel; it’s a heritage palace.
The problem:
The problem was regular, standard fans. They looked too modern and harsh, and were not even trying to match the vibe of the palace or the detailed interiors.
What we did:
We used both ceiling and pedestal fans wherever they could add a soul to the interior. Each one was handcrafted with finishes that matched the palace’s style and improved the overall experience.
Result:
Now, if you travel to the Taj Lake Palace, you will instantly feel the royalty in the ambience. The fans blended into the space like they were meant for it. And you experience the comfort
2. Novotel Resorts & Spa, Goa– Clean and Modern Spaces
Novotel Resort & Spa, Goa, is one of Goa’s top-rated hotels with a simple yet modern, clean aesthetic.
The problem:
Standard fans looked basic and didn’t match the clean interiors.
What we did:
We installed ceiling fans with minimal design, matte finishes, simple shapes, neutral colours to match the personality of the rooms.
Result:
The fans fit naturally into the space without disturbing the look and enhance the experience for every room.
3. Samode Haveli, Udaipur – Rich and Detailed Interiors
Samode Palace was initially built in the sixteenth century as a Rajput fort, but in the early 19th century, under the nobleman Rawal Berisal, it was converted from a fort into an exquisitely designed palace in the Rajput and Mughal architectural style.
The problem:
Normal fans looked random and didn’t belong there.
What we did:
We designed fans that matched the style, both ceiling and pedestal fans.
Result:
The fans supported the space instead of breaking the look.
4. Taj Hotels Resorts & Palaces – Different Properties, Same Standard
Taj Hotels, Resorts & Palaces is a well-known luxury hospitality brand founded in 1903, offering high-end stays, quality dining, and culturally rooted experiences across India and worldwide.
The problem:
One standard fan design doesn’t work everywhere.
What we did:
We customised fans based on each property’s style instead of using one design everywhere.
Result:
Each hotel felt unique, but still part of the Taj brand.
5. Holiday Inn Resort, Goa – Large Open Spaces
Holiday Inn Resort is located at Mobor Beach, Cavelossim, in South Goa, and has bigger areas and different conditions. An exquisite property with beach views and windy weather.
The problem:
Standard fans didn’t look good or perform well in large, open areas.
What we did:
We installed durable ceiling fans with finishes that matched the resort design.
Result:
Better airflow and a cleaner overall look.
6. The Lalit – Premium Interiors
This upscale hotel features a 7-storey atrium, is an 8-minute walk from the nearest metro station, and is located 2.5 km from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport.
The problem:
Regular fans looked too basic and reduced the premium feel.
What we did:
We added ceiling and pedestal fans with better detailing and finishes.
Result:
The space looked complete and more refined.
7. Narendra Bhawan – Story-Based Design
Narendra Bhawan was once the residence of Maharaja Narendra Singh Ji, the last reigning ruler of Bikaner. After his passing in 2003, the haveli was converted into a luxury hotel.
The problem:
Standard fans broke the theme and felt out of place.
What we did:
We designed fans that matched the story and concept of the space.
Result:
Everything felt connected. Nothing looked random.
8. Vivanta, By Taj – Modern and Vibrant Design
Inspired by traditional Kettuvallam houseboats and detailed with Chitra Pothi artwork on the walls, Taj Bekal Resort & Spa blends seamlessly with its calm, rural surroundings.
The problem:
Generic fans didn’t match the brand image.
What we did:
We installed clean, well-finished ceiling fans that fit the interiors.
Result:
Better comfort with a consistent design across rooms.
Why Custom Ceiling Fan Projects India Matter
Across all these projects, one thing is clear: fans are not just functional.
1. Design Consistency
A wrong fan can spoil the whole space. Custom fans help everything look aligned.
2. Brand Experience
Guests may not point it out, but they notice when things don’t match.
3. Better Comfort
Good fans improve airflow, especially in large or open areas.
4. Long-Term Value
Standard fans often need replacement or a compromised design. Custom fans solve both.
Key Takeaways
- Standard fans don’t work in high-end spaces
- Custom fans are not a luxury; they’re necessary
- Heritage and modern spaces need different approaches
- Finish, size, and design all matter
- Fans should be planned early, not added later

Ceiling height, space size, design style, and airflow needs.
Conclusion
In hospitality, small details make a big difference.
Fans are one of those details. When done right, they improve comfort without affecting design. When done wrong, they stand out for the wrong reasons.
At The Fan Studio, we treat fans as part of the design, not just a product. Whether it’s a palace or a modern hotel, the goal is simple: make the fan fit the space.
If you’re working on a hotel project, don’t treat fans as an afterthought. It usually costs more later.
Let’s discuss your project.
